Just to let you know ...I got Balt +5.5 the day the line came out for $6200.00 knowing I could buy back on the other side (SF)....just did...got SF at -3.5... for $6200.00 to set up a middle
this will not count in my Record!!!!

I added $800 more on one of those sides because I feel that team will win. I will show that play and a few prop bets on Super Bowl Sunday.

This is a snapshot of the Hank Stramm superbowl system, it's from a couple of years ago but I use it because as always people make changes to it and then argue about what's actually right etc etc. This takes all the bs out of the mix

Superbowl System

10 pts to any team that has won the SB in the last 3 yrs

8 pts to a team if opponent is playing in SB for 1st time

8 pts to team that allowed fewer rushes

7 pts to team with best overall record

7 pts to team with most offensive rushes

5 pts to team with lowest def rush yds per carry avg

4 pts to team with best net kick/punt return TDS

4 pts to team with best ATS record

4 pts to team with best net penalty yards

3.5 pts to team with best yds per pass attempt

3.5 pts to team that allowed the fewest points

3.5 pts to team that allowed fewest rushing TDs

3 pts to team with most sacks

2.5 pts to team with fewest offensive pass attempts

2 pts to team with best net total punts

1.5 pts to team with best offensive rush yds per carry

1 pt to team with best completion percentage



I think the results are like 5O something to 4 or close to that favoring SF

with the line at 3.5 system say NINERS in a rout

Being a handicapper, I was always interested in Hanks Super Bowl theory. His simple little point based formula has worked wonders for predicting the winner for the Super Bowl. His straight up record is 39-3-2, as the system was spot
on again picking New Orleans last year against the Colts as an underdog.
He won his first 16 games in a row, until Tampa Bay beat
the Oakland Raiders back in 2003.
Let's go through Hank's system for this years match up between Pittsburgh and Green Bay. Points are awarded to each team that has an edge in each category. Remember, the points earned in each category don't reflect the final score or power ratings for the game – just who the straight up winner will be.
The Points shake out this way: Pittsburgh - 62.5 - Green Bay – 7
According to Hank’s Super Bowl System, you can bet the mortgage this Sunday on the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Some categories were very close but Pittsburgh absolutely slaughters Green Bay with his formula.
So before you put your money down on Green Bay, your betting against a 44-year-old system that has been hitting at a 92.8% clip.
Again, the Stram system does not take into account the betting line, it only looks at the straight up winner of the game. But this year you don't have to worry about the betting line, as Pittsburgh is getting +2.5 points.
So if you don't have your mind made up…Think of ole Hank and his great Super Bowl system!

Again, the Stram system does not take into account the betting line, it only looks at the straight up winner of the game. But this year you don't have to worry about the betting line, as Pittsburgh is getting +2.5 points.
So if you don't have your mind made up…Think of ole Hank and his great Super Bowl system!

Not rocket science , but if you added 800 to a side it must be the 49ers other wise you only bet 5400 on 49ers at -3.5 thus keeping the 800 on the Ravens +5.5. Always an informative thread Ace, gl on your action always.

Just to let you know ...I got Balt +5.5 the day the line came out for $6200.00 knowing I could buy back on the other side (SF)....just did...got SF at -3.5... for $6200.00 to set up a middle
this will not count in my Record!!!!

I added $800 more on one of those sides because I feel that team will win. I will show that play and a few prop bets on Super Bowl Sunday.

Now unless you placed both of these above bets at even (no juice), then it would appear to me that you are basically 'pooping off' $620 for a slight chance to hit the middle. I might understand your logic if you had gotten SF at -2.5 or even bought SF down to -2.5 so that the 3 is covered. "Points that matter" is why bookies love the players that play teasers. :think2: Good Luck

New Orleans hosts this year’s Super Bowl XLVII matchup between the Ravens and 49ers. Before we begin, a word of caution always has to accompany an article about Super Bowl handicapping: Remember that it is one game, the most wagered event in all of sports, and thus heavily weighted by oddsmakers to attract public action. Wager wisely, as no one game should outweigh a season’s worth of hard work.
The Super Bowl offers some variation from the normal handi- capping routine: Two weeks of rest, a neutral field, and hundreds of available proposition bets, all of which can make for an overwhelming task of handicapping. If you choose to wager on numerous different options, be prepared to find yourself conflicted near the end of the game. As always, it does pay off to do your homework. Hopefully, with everything we’re offering for Sunday’s showdown, you will at least

Rushing yards, passing yards per attempt, turnovers and time of possession are four key statistical categories that we like to use to determine their relationship to winning, both SU & ATS. The following trends will demonstrate the importance of these statistics:
• Teams that rush for more yards in the Super Bowl are 36-10 SU & 33-10-3 ATS (77%).
• Teams that average more passing yards per attempt in the NFL title game are 40-6 SU & 34-9-3 ATS (79%).
• In the 46 previous Super Bowls, the team that has more turnovers has won just four times SU and six times ATS.
• Teams that win the time of possession battle are 33-13 SU & 32-11-3 ATS (74%).
• Teams that hold an edge in at least three of these four key statisti- cal categories are 38-2 SU & 34-5-1 ATS (87%).
• Teams that win all four categories are 24-0 SU & 22-1-1 ATS. The only ATS loss occurred in Super Bowl XXXIX in Philadelphia’s ATS win versus the Patriots.
